The Role in a Nutshell:

As a Corporate Engagement Manager, your mission is crystal clear—forge partnerships with corporate organizations and foundations that align with Apparo’s vision. Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Development, you’ll be the linchpin connecting our mission with the resources needed to make it happen.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. Working closely with the Sponsorship Manager and Development Associate, you’ll catalyze partnerships into action. From major corporate events to daily operations, your role will make Apparo’s mission a reality.

No Tech Expertise Required, Just Relationship Mastery:

Don’t worry if you’re not a tech guru. We need your knack for building relationships, sealing deals, and exceptional writing skills. Integrity is non-negotiable – transparency and honesty are the cornerstones of our culture.

Your Impactful Responsibilities:

  • Funding Expansion: Be the driving force behind expanding Apparo’s funding for impactful programs.
  • Market Growth: Take Apparo’s footprint to new markets and broaden our support network.
  • Elevate Visibility: Showcase Apparo’s work in a way that resonates with a diverse funding base, emphasizing the power of skilled volunteering as a recruitment and retention tool.

Your Day-to-Day Adventures:

75% of your time will be spent cultivating high 5-digit and 6-digit corporate funding relationships, aiming to raise $620K toward our $820K impact goal. This includes managing relationships with major corporate players, developing multi-market and national-level funding strategies, and engaging the Board for impactful fundraising.

20% of your time will be spent working with the Director of Financial Development. You’ll craft an annual Development Plan, analyze funding trends, and incorporate event sponsorship into more extensive enterprise proposals. Creating reports showcasing campaign success will also be in your repertoire.

The remaining 5% involves miscellaneous tasks – attending meetings and events and providing logistical support when needed.

Your Toolkit:

  • Experience: 3+ years in corporate sponsorship, fundraising, or nonprofit environments.
  • Deal-Closing Skills: Proven success in negotiation and revenue growth.
  • Initiative: A self-starter who can adapt and problem-solve on the fly.
  • Presentation Prowess: Strong skills in creating compelling presentations.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable with fundraising CRM databases (Salesforce) and Microsoft 365.
